The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. Through short-term visits to the United States, current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields experience this country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their American counterparts.

In 2019, CIR welcomed 450 international visitors to Santa Fe — all rising leaders in their countries —  to learn about entrepreneurship, journalism, traditional art, the preservation of indigenous cultural sites, and many other issues relevant in New Mexico. CIR volunteers can organize and participate in these programs by providing homestays, dinners, and receptions for the visitors.
